Ria Massey paints butterflies not merely to capture beauty, but to honor the journey. These wings carry her story—one of falling, healing, and rising. There were seasons when she forgot she had wings at all, when the chaos of life—loss, doubt, and silence—blurred every color. Yet even in the mess, she found grace.
With each canvas, she tells the viewer: You are allowed to be undone. You are allowed to rise slowly, imperfectly, gloriously. Her brush moves like breath through the storm—some strokes wild, others soft—but every line is intentional, like the prayer behind it.
The Butterfly Series is dedicated to anyone reclaiming themselves. It speaks of transformation, but also of survival. In these works, Massey turns grief into gold and gives chaos a voice.
