"Completed in July 2025, ‘Sentinel in Stillness’ draws from George Coșbuc’s poem La Oglindă, capturing the threshold between girlhood and womanhood. The central figure wears a Sibiu ‘ie’—the traditional blouse of the artist’s ancestry—its motifs echoing generations of Romanian craftsmanship. In 2024, Louis Vuitton’s uncredited use of a similar design stirred national outrage, making the work both a meditation on feminine awakening and a statement of cultural reclamation. Poised like a guardian, the figure holds her transformation and heritage with equal resolve. Concentric rings behind her evoke echoes through time, ensuring that what is sacred endures."
